About Me
Hello
I am an engineer, husband, and dad. I am passionate about technology and engineering, and always love learning new things. I am a graduate student at Clemson University in the M.S. in Computer Science program. I like solving problems and building cool things that have a positive impact.
Personal Background
My home is the Carolinas. I grew up in North Carolina and current live, work, and go to school in South Carolina. Growing up I was always tinkering with devices to understand how and why they work. I regularly disassembled and re-assembled electronic devices to see what made them work. I am curious and love diving into the details of how things work. From my early teenage years I knew I wanted a career in engineering and technology. Current, I am a controls software engineer at Bosch Rexroth and I love the challenge and the satisfaction of solving problems and exploring new technologies.
Technical Background
I have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a concentration in Mechatronics engineering. My background is primarily in control systems design and development using various types of hardware and software for industrial and embedded control systems. My programming skills include:
- C and C++ for embedded systems on Arduino and Texas Instruments devices
- Python
- MATLAB (including Simulink and Stateflow)
- LabVIEW (including Real-Time and FPGA)
- Some JavaScript (i.e. this website/blog)
Career and Goals
I current work for Bosch Rexroth where I focus on developing control systems and software for hydraulic components and systems in a team of awesome engineers. I am part of the R&D engineering group so I work on new product development projects which is really cool. We are current partnering with several original equipment manufacturers to bring brand new off-highway vehicles from prototype to production.
My passion is learning about new technologies and teaching others. I like software engineering because there are limitless possibilities to create new technologies. I am starting Spring 2024 in the Clemson graduate school to pursue studies in Computer Science with a concentration in A.I. and machine learning for advanced control and autonomous vehicles.
Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn and thank you for checking out my page. Have a blessed day!
Best,
